Q o conduct research is to listen in to an on-going conversation; and to write a research paper is to "put in your oar." In this week's discussion, you will share a perspective from a scholarly source in your Assignment 3 annotated bibliography and indicate whether you agree or disagree with the author's proposed solution to your social problem. Remember that a good annotation explains how sources relate and offers your evaluation of each source. We are practicing those skills here in this discussion: 1. Briefly name your source and describe your source's proposal (Example: "Topic: Munesue, et. al., propose changes in postharvest food handling to reduce food waste"). 2. In the body of your comment, explain where you fit in to the scholarly conversation about your topic and to what extent you agree with the source you are presenting. (Example: "I don't entirely agree that postharvest changes are enough to address food waste because when farmers overproduce, there is significant food waste before harvest.") 3. In response to your classmates, challenge them to be clear about their position compared to that of others in the scholarly conversation on their topic. As always, you must respond to classmates at least twice.
